Who is Tom Jones? I am a service connected disabled veteran, born in May of 1969 and lived on the North side until the 8th grade. Boy were those the days. I felt safe to walk or ride my bike without a helmet all over Spokane, traveling to River Front Park or to my grandparents on the South Hill. I moved back home in 2012 and Spokane has changed, and not for the better. One would think that with more traffic and more housing, we would have more revenue for roads, and that is not the case. Fossil fuels are at an all-time high due to the implementation of green energy. I am not a Republican, or a Democrat, I am an independent. I get the opportunity to run for mayor of Spokane as a write – in candidate. That means, if it is a good idea I can run with it, and if it’s a bad idea, like electrical charging stations at fixed income housing, I can stand up for those citizens.
I have learned from my past, that mixing alcohol with prescription medication will only end in disaster. I have been sober from alcohol for over nine years and take medication for PTSD, Bipolar, and night terrors. I am in a unique position that I can show the homeless, by example, how to get and remain sober, and become an asset to society.
