Homelessness

I have been homeless myself, but at the same time I was an asset to society. Homelessness is not a right and it is not a privilege. It is a choice and it is a crime. Everything they do is illegal. When elected mayor, I will write citations that start at $200, I am in a unique position, because I am sober off alcohol and take prescription medications, so I can show them what they need to do. I will seek out government grants to find a way to bond them, so that they can get jobs and housing. If they don’t want the help, my Administration will write the homeless people tickets into a felony and then the state will have to deal with them. If you steal during my administration you will be detained and arrested. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you

Covid-19

Covid-19 is back. As your mayor I will not allow covid-19 patients to be transported to Spokane. In order to see my aunt I was vaccinated. I have no desire for further vaccinations. As your mayor I will not demand that my constituents or city employees need further covid-19 vaccinations. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.

Safe Sidewalks

Obesity is a major problem in the US today. There are very few sidewalks in Spokane that can be walked on safely. It is a tragedy my friends, when a pedestrian has to yield to a trash can, a tree limb or a car bumper. When elected mayor, through code enforcement and the police department, I will make sure we have safe sidewalks. Where there are no sidewalks, I will apply for government grants to install them. I want Spokane to be known as the Sidewalk City. This will give all of us the opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and the benefit of exercise all year round. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.

Road Improvements

One would think that with more vehicles that we would have more revenue for roads. When elected mayor, we will use very little asphalt cold patches, for they don’t work. There is a product that takes a little bit more time to install, but will last longer. This product will also help the surface on Broadway, Boone, Indiana, and many other streets in Spokane. All manhole covers will be either ground down or raised up. I also have a 14th Avenue solution. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.

Green Energy

Our government is jamming this down our throats and I don’t like it! If elected mayor, I cannot afford an electric car. Why? Because I don’t want one! As your mayor, I will work with government to let them know that not just the city of Spokane, but Spokane County, Stevens County, Ferry County, Pend Oreille County, Lincoln County, and Adams County are filled with citizens who are concerned about the climate, but where the majority of us are on a fixed income. You could give an electric car to a single parent with two kids and they still cannot afford it. I will deny permits for electrical car charging stations for trailer parks, apartments and other fixed income locations. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.

Traffic lights

How sweet it used to be, that in Spokane if you drove 30 mph, you could get all the way across town. In July of 1990, they removed the tollway from Maple Street toll bridge, but did not remove the 40 mph sign. That sign was designed to get you caught back up. Most people believe that if you go above 30 mph you can make the lights, which is dangerous. When elected mayor, I will work with traffic control to once again synchronize the lights at 30 mph. This will make for a safer City, reducing insurance premiums. I believe it will also make our citizens happier. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.

Sexual Harassment

I was sexually harassed at work, so when my fiancé was sexually harassed at work, I lost it. At the time, I was not only an alcoholic, but a prescription drug addict. I was charged with a felony and went to prison for 20 months. I hope you will see that if I would have never met Dr. Westfield, I would not have a felony. Now, 17 positive years later, I have the opportunity to become your mayor. In a way I have to thank Dr. Westfield, for that is how I got sober.

It is now 2023. As your mayor, I am going to try to make sexual harassment a crime in the workplace. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.

Citations

As of today, code enforcement is reactive, not proactive. That is the very definition of discrimination. When elected mayor, I have no way to reward those who are compliant, so I will be writing citations to those in violation with a 10% bonus to the citing officer. When police officers write a citation, they will also receive a 10% bonus. With this policy, we will no longer have to spend Revenue recruiting police officers. Please write in Tom Jones from mayor. Thank you.
